Pony Trekking
since 1952
Pony Trekking was started by the Ormiston Family, with their renowned stud of Highland Ponies, at the Balavil Arms Hotel in Newtonmore, with the assistance of the Scottish Council for Physical Recreation (now Sportscotland) in 1952, and it is still going strong all over the UK today.

Testimonials
Lovely staff and lovely horses. My horse (Gracie) was very responsive to me as her rider. Unlike some treks where the horses follow the leader and plod around the path they know. I’ll be riding here every time I’m in Kingussie

An exceptional place to visit, learn to ride and enjoy a hack out in the magnificent scenery. This historic place dating back to 1952 has never forgot it’s family roots and ethos. The staff are a very good collective team making everyone welcome. A must see Riding School and Trekking Centre
